KV.No-2 Kharagpur has been successfully able to fulfill the dreams of Guru Dev Rabindra Nath Tagore in imparting t;?ducationwhich develop all around development of students.

It is my pleasant duty to extend a warm welcome to honourable members of VMC and PTA, Principals of the neighboring schools, the galaxy of academicians, educationists,guests and parents.
I extend my hearty welcome to all my staff, my beloved students and ladies and gentlemen.
At the outset I take the liberty to present before the august gathering a brief report of the activities of the Vidyalaya for the session 2010-11.
This is a proud moment for all of us associated with the school that Kendriya Vidyalaya,
Railways, Kharagpur has done a hat trick by being the proud recipient of the prestigious
Certificates of Excellence from the Commissioner, KYS, New Delhi, for the last three consecutive years. These certificates are awarded at national level for Kendriya Vidyalayas which are giving the best results in board examinations both quantitatively and qualitatively.
Miss Paromita Mukherjee of class XII was the topper of the school with 95.2 % marks in CBSE 2()10Science Stream) and Miss Aditi Chatterjee was a topper class XII CBSE 2011 in science stream with 93.6 % marks. Miss Bhagyasree Pala bagged the first position with 90.2 %in commercestream CBSE 2011. Master Varon Mishra, Ms Bhushra Nazir, Ms Ria Jain and Ms Mani"shagot 10 CGPA. These students received a cash prize ofRs.50001 each from KVS, Head Quarters.
The school achieved 2ndposition in Kolkata region for qualitative result of class X with 22 students securing CGPA 10 for which the school got the shield from the Assistant
Commissioner, KVS, Kolkata in the Principal's Conference. All these students will receive a cash prize ofRs. 5000/= each from KVS, H/Q which amounts to Rs.110000/=.
9 students of class X were awarded merit scholarship and cash prize of rupees 35000/-
shared by them given by Rashtriy Sanskrit Sansthan, New Delhi.
We also have 7 proud recipients of the prestigious merit certificate in English core from
CBSE for being within the first 0.1 % top scorer in AISSCE in 2010.
Out of 59 science students passed out last year, 2 students joined MBBS and 23 got
Master Tathagata Jana of IX A has raised the prestige of the Vidyalya by winning 1 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medals at the 42ndKVS National Level Swimming meet. He was also selected for SGFI Meet in swimming. Kumari Arena Dutta of VI D won the silver medal in Table Tennis in 43rdKVS National Meet 2011.
In national social science exhibition of 20 I0 our school choir group was selected at the regional to represent Kolkata region in the national meet held at'Ambala.
Master Chandan Praharaj of class IX A made the Vidyalya proud by bagging the 2nd position in the KVS national science exhibition held at Chennai in 2010.
In 13thKVS Maths Olympiad Master Somnath Banerjee achieved 5thrankin all India level among 17000 students and his regional rank was second.
In the 14thKVS junior Maths Olympiad Master Amab MandaI Class X achieved the 2nd rank in all over India and 1st in Kolkata region. Master Somnath Banerjee got the 3rd position in Kolkata Region.
Master Soumyajyoti Mitra of class XII bagged gold medal with the state rank 6 and master Pratik Kumar Sarangi of class XII won the silver medal for obtaining state rank 7 in the International Maths Olympiad.
Miss Arpita Singh of class XII got the 2ndrank in the stat~ in the National level Talent Search Examination (NSTSE)under Unified Council, Hyderabad.
Under Bharat Scouts and Guides movement, Miss Pragya Bharti of class XI A qualified Rajaya Purshkar Testing Campconducted by KVS. Master S. Sukhbir Singh Dayal of class X B completed Rastrapati Award testing camp conducted by SE Railways. 10 scouts and our Scout Master Mr. M.K.Parida are on the move to NTC, Panchmarhi for an adventure programme.
Mr. P.K Dey, our Music Teacher was awarded the prestigious KVS incentive award for the session 2010 and Mr. AK Dey, our TOT (SST), got the KVS incentive award for the session 2011.These awards were presented by the HRD Minister Sri Kapil Sibal to these teachers.
Mrs. Usha Pandey,PRT got the regional incentive award for the sessioi12011 and the award was presented by the Deputy Commissioner ,KVS , Kolkata Region.
At this junction let me thank Mr. PC Kar ,Libarian who retired this academic session after an eventful service of more than three decades in Kendriya Vidyalaya Sanghathan.
Activities of the Vidyalaya:
K.V. No 2, Kharagpur has been the hub of various activities which give wide exposure to
our children. A few such needs mention.
The school has been given the responsibility of conducting three day workshop for TGT,
English of KVS Kolkata Region for implementing CCE and three day workshop for
primary teacher on Teaching Spoken English.
The school hosted the KVS Cluster Meet for Vollyball and Kabaddi in 2010-11.
The school organized an educational excursion trip to BITM, Kolkata where around 800
students of class VI to XII participated in it.
The school is one of the three schools in Kolkata region and 50 schools in all over India
which has been selected to participate in International School Award program organized by British Council, India. This will pave way for our students and teachers to work online in collaboration with various schools all over the world using the British Council portals
Schools online and Connecting Class rooms.
Our school is also one of the 10 schools in Kolkata region which are doing the pilot project on preparation of CCEreport card using computer software developed by KVS, Chandigarh region.
Our school hosted a grand program of the great classical performer Sri Rammohan Maharaj, a famous kathak exponent ftom New Delhi, a part of SPIC Macay program.
It seems achievementskeep coming when aspirations are very high. It has been my mission to get ISO 9001 before I leave this school. To make it possible recently the school has been nominated by the KVShead quarters New Delhi to apply for the same based on the overall perfonnance of our school.
But to achieve this, lot to be done. Promises to be kept. Performance standards to be kept high. Inftastructure to be upgraded.
With the cooperation of KVS authorities, guidance and support of VMC Members, help of PTA and parents and the dedication of my team of staff members and students, ISO certification will not be a tall order.

This has been the mission of KV2, Kharagpur which stands tall and proud today having put in glorious 25 years of its peerless service to student community. It is a moment to cherish, to linger, to reflect, to remember, to thank and to rededicate ourselves to the cause of education. A moment to see the contrast and growth how this school has left its mild foot prints of RPF Barracks in 1986 to a dash of colourful and vibrant campus of sprawling 16 acres today.
To this landmark silver jubilee Annual Day, it is my proud priviledge to welcome our Honble chief guest Shree Anil Handaji, DRM, SE Railway, KGP and Chairman VMC.

At the outset I take the liberty to present before the august gathering a brief report of the activities of the Vidyalaya for the session 2009-10.
The school has received the prestigious certificate of excellence from honbe commissioner of KVS, Sangathan, New Delhi for its remarkable feat of more than 10% students scoring 90% marks and above and more thatn 50% of students scoring 75% and above.
Master Deep Shankar Pal of Class XII was the topper of the school in AISSCE with 91.6% marks and Ms. Shalini Praharaj of class X made us proud by securing 96% in AISSE. She has also been the recipient of the prestigious merit certificate in Science from CBSE for being within the first 0.1% top scorers. Master Shantanu Bhattacharya of class X also received 0.1% merit certificate in Hindi.
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
The school provides optimum opportunities in CCA and the outcome of such efforts make us all proud.
In the KVS national meet held in November 2009, Monalisha Hansda of Class X D brought laurels for the vidyalaya by bagging a gold medal in 200 m race and Master Anirban Manna got 3 individual gold medals in swimming, two silver medals in relay race and a group championship award in U-17 individual. Tathagata Jana of class VII A won two bonze medals in swimming.
Nine students under the guidance of Mr. P. K. Dey our Music Teacher, added feather to the cap of the Vidyalaya by bagging the first prize in the regional level in group song in Social Science exhibition and represented the region at the National level held at KV Ambala, Haryana.
Madhusmita Acharya and Sourabh Mondal of class XI represented this school at the National level Science exhibition held at Chennai region .
06 Students of Class eleven got selected in the 2nd Phase of International Math Olympiad organized by KVS in all India level examination and attend training camps held both in Bangalore and Mumbai.
Somnath Bhui of class XI and D V Santosh of class XII secured 349th and 366th rank respectively in the IXth National Cyber Olympiad.
Arnab Mondal of class VIII achieved 83rd All India Rank in the 12th National Science Olympiad.
150 students participated in the National level Mathematics Talent search examination and 5 students bagged top five positions.
G Vishal of class VI secured 1822nd All India Rank in NSTS examination and the school was felicitated for maximum participation.
Ms. Nita Patra, TGT(Maths) and Mr U.P.Bhakt, Substaff were awarded the prestigious KVS Incentive award for the session 2009 for their outstanding performance in their fields. This is an all India level selection for KVS employees and the award was given by the HRD Minister HonBle Kapil Sibal.
KV2, Kharagpur has been the hub of various activities which give wide exposure to children. To save time a few I would like to mention here to give all of you an idea of such activities.
The school was the venue for the regional basketball meet for girls wherein 5 schools took part 31 students of our vidyalaya were selected for pool matches. 19 students participated in the regional sports meet at Kolkata and 06 students were selected for the national.
Our school hosted the Tritiya Sopan Testing camp of scouts of Kolkata region wherein more than 45 schools took part. Five scouts and Five Guides of our Vidyalaya Successfully passed the Tritiya Sopan Camp.
Master Samiran Santra and Miss Rashmi Pandey of class XI won the Rajya Prushkar Award. Miss Salini Praharaj of class XII is qualified to appear for Rashtrapati Guide Award.
As part of promoting the spirit of Adventure,Ten students were sent on a Trekking trip to Manali.
30 students were sponsored to be part of KVS contigent for a special history package tour to Bodhgaya, Nalanda, Rajgir and Varanashi organized by IRCTC, Kolkata It was a rare opportunity and the students were fully benefited to witness the rich heritage of our mother India
The school also organized an educational excursion to science city Kolkatta where nearly 250 students of classes IX & XI participated in it.
Vision and goal
Educational sector has reached a decisive take off in India at this moment especially after NCF 2005 and the Right to Education Bill passed in the parliament. Schools of our kind are the chosen grounds for fulfilling the expectations of Government.
Those who are connected to school education are very well aware of the rapid changes that keep occurring in our system. So our vision is to further the policy of government to impart quality education to the needy, to provide education in a stress free non threatening environment and to strive hard to give man making and capacity building education than churning out memory machines.
With these commitment, let me conclude by expressing my sincere thanks to the chairman of vidyalaya, Sri Anil Handaji, DRM SE Railway for his efficient leadership, Shri.Dinesh Kumarji, ADRM, SE Railways for his support and Shri. Let me take this opportunity to thank our Honble Asst. Commissioner Mrs. Sandhya Rastogi and the EOs at the KVS Regional Office for their immense contribution to this vidyalaya.

With positive people of your nature and the dedicated quality of our staff, I am sure, we will make our sincere and honest efforts in resonance with the latest development in teaching technology, soaked with utmost care and love to shape your wards into competent citizens of India.
